THE MIND, MAN’S TRUE TONGUE
The invisible faculty of man called the mind is a powerful aspect of man that eventually defines a man; it defines a man as dead or alive. The mind of man sees and hears, and out of that which it receives it expresses forth in the form of thoughts. Out of the mind comes forth thoughts and these thoughts can either make or destroy a man. We can look at the mind as the true spiritual tongue of every man; they speak inaudible words in the form of thoughts. In this present age, those who possess physical bodies and are able to communicate with audible voices only bring forth what their mind have spoken in the form of thoughts. Even after the shedding of the physical bodies, the invisible tongue (the mind) continues speaking eternally. We have seen real life cases where spirits communicate using the physical bodies of others, even in the days of Jesus’ ministry, some spirits were able to communicate to Him through the bodies they possessed, and that form of communication will not have been possible except through a physical body.
It is what the mind (the invisible tongue) speaks that determines the course of a man’s life, whether he ascends and remains in the place of life and perfect peace or He slips into the lower places of death and anguish of soul. The Death and life is in the power of the tongue (mind).
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
What a man speaks and confesses from His mind is that which justifies Him or condemns Him; it corrupts Him or maintains Him blameless before God. Justification is that which exalts a man into life and total favor with God and maintains Him there, while on the other hand condemnation is what causes a man to fall away from the favor of God into death and destruction. The difference between life and death is in the conscious awareness of the living God and our being in Him and the loss of conscious of our being in Him. A man that is alive is the man that lives in the full awareness of His oneness and inseparability from the living God in love, while the dead man loses all awareness of the love of God and His inheritance in God.
If life and death is in the power of the tongue (the mind) and all have died and fallen short of God’s glory in Adam, it means man must have learned a tongue (language) that has brought calamity upon Him. Jesus knew the secret of the power of the tongue and its ability to give life or death for this reason He declared that men shall give account of every idle word that they speak in the Day of Judgment, the words that we speak either justify us unto life or kills us.
Matthew 12:33-37 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
The Judgment referred to, by Jesus in Matthew 12:33-37 functions in our conscience and either gives man access to God’s glory or distances man from his glory. If our conscience does not condemn us we have boldness to enter abide in his invisible eternal presence and reign in Christ. If on the other hand our conscience condemns us, we discover ourselves always further away from His glorious presence into the lower realms of abandonment where there is anguish of soul and tribulation because in that place there is no knowledge of the living God. Judgment is a reality that is always present, it was there in the day of Adam and remains today, so that men are constantly receiving according to their works, let us not view it as some event for the future.
The idle words which Jesus made reference to in (Matthew 12:36) are vain words thought up by the exterior man of the flesh who is classified as being from the generation of vipers (Matthew 12:34). The outer man of the flesh is also classified as the evil man (Matthew 12:35) and that corrupt tree [Matthew 12:33] that cannot bring forth the goods fruits of eternal life but rather produce fruits of death. We all died simply because we put on the tongue of the corrupt man of the flesh and therefore lost our blamelessness before God. This is the carnal mindedness that Paul refers to in almost all the letters he wrote, an example is in Romans chapter 8.
Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
As long as man lives a life that is motivated by His carnal natural mind, He cannot see life because a wide imaginary gulf of enemity is formed between Him and God by His inability to agree with Him and to please Him. Living after the flesh causes man to view the things of this world in the natural light and to set His heart on it. It causes man to speak out of vain thoughts that well up within Him and eventually defiles a man by promoting the evil eye of lust and covetousness which leads to every evil work of darkness, be it murders, hate, intolerance, adulteries pride etc. These things defile man eventually and strips Him of His garment of righteousness and boldness to stand before the Father in judgment. Jesus refers to this in Matthew 7:20-23, when He says, that which comes out from the darkened hearts of men that defiles their conscious and reduces them into mere mortals cut off from the living God.
If the mind of man is single and spiritual, perceiving things only after the mind of God, he speaks a language of truth. This language of the spirit is the only thing that can keep a man undefiled by the power of death which matures through lust that ravages this world today.
HOW MAN INHERITED A STRANGE TONGUE
The world is languishing and perishing in the pit of hell today simply because they have all learned a strange false tongue and speak lies, it is so because their mind is fixed on vanity and are not discerning and speaking the truth.
Think of it, from the moment we were born into the natural world we have learned the language of this world from parents after the flesh, schoolteachers, and from the system of men. That which we have learned in this world is the thing that has caused man to live a life in falsehood void of the knowledge of the living God, unknowingly we have been feeding from the knowledge of good and evil and we have been conforming ourselves to a false world. It is so because the wisdom of this world is gotten from the depths of Satan, which does not have a view of the truth or anything that pertains to God, all it does is to perceive and understand things according to appearances. As David wrote in one of His psalms from the moment man is born into the word He is initiated into speaking lies.
Psalms 58:3-4 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. 4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
The natural man who does not know God, neither is it aware of the things that pertain to God’s kingdom, with the split tongue of the serpent it speaks lies which like poison kill men.
That allegorical experience that Adam had in the Garden of Eden is the same experience we all have had as we were lowered into the realm of the dead. We had all along been living a life out of the natural man, seeing things as it sees them and speaking out lies. The consequence of this is a darkened heart that loses knowledge of the living God, a corruptible nature that defiles the conscience of man because of lust produced from an evil eye and man’s consequent loss of the things freely given to him by God the Father.
Jude 1:10-11 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
The things created and seen in this natural world are only to be perceived and understood by the light of the spirit of God revealing the deep thoughts of God in relation to His invisible attributes and therefore causing man to be aware of the unlimited resources reserved freely for our enjoyment throughout eternity. If the mind is set on this temporary order of things, He speaks idly from the dust, which refers to vanity and materialism, He goes about like a drunken man coveting and seeking to gather and therefore neglecting the thing that matters most which is His inheritance in God’s kingdom.
In Adam, we have spoken a strange tongue, a tongue of this Dark Age and brought upon ourselves calamity upon calamity, but God is not just seating back watching His sons wallow in the mud, he has sent his spirit to revive us from the transgression in Adam.
RESTORATION OF THE ORIGINAL TONGUE
The gift of the spirit of God is God’s gift to humanity, it is given to teach us the language of light that we forgot to the darkness of this world. Any man who seeks to rediscover Himself in the only begotten of the Father must receive of the spirit of God and yield to it. The only begotten son of the Father is the one who has the vast unlimited resources of God’s kingdom and glory as His inheritance; He is the only one that inherits the world. In Adam, we all inherited a strange tongue and received lies after the manner of this world and for this reason, the path to our inheritance in God’s kingdom was completely obscured.
God has freely given us all things to rnjoy freely to the fullness but most people are not aware of this because they have become dull of hearing the truth. As it is written, eyes have not seen nor ears heard nor has it entered into the imagination of men the things that God has reserved for His loved ones.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
The eyes and ears mentioned in 1Corinthians 2:9 are the eyes and the ears of mortal man of the dust who because of the blindness of the eyes of His understanding cannot perceive the things that God has prepared for those that love Him. On the other hand, we who receive the spirit of God, learn of it and align ourselves with it, enter in through the open gates to enjoy the things given freely to us by the Father. Many are not aware of an infinite resource present on the inside of them because the lies of this world fetched from the deep things of Satan have obscured the mind of men of this world. OH ONLY IF MEN COULD UNDERSTAND THE LOVE AND THE GOOD THINGS RESERVED FOR THEM ETERNALLY BY THE FATHER OF LIGHTS THEY WILL MARVEL AT HOW IGNORANT THEY WERE.
1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
We, who are being delivered from death and taken out of this world, speak a new spiritual tongue that is taught by the Holy Ghost no more out of the wisdom of man.
1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
It is important that every child of God should sit down at the feet of the master to learn this spiritual tongue because this language will sustain Him eternally. It is the tongue of angels and the ages to come that Paul referred to in His writings (1Corinthians 14:1-2). Looking back at my personal experience, I remember many years ago while I was meditating on my bed, I suddenly discovered myself in a classroom and a teacher all in white was teaching me a strange language. God was indicating to me using allegories that He will teach me a new tongue. Every man who will discover Himself within the walls of the new Jerusalem will have to speak this new tongue because nothing that lies or defiles nor will any double fork tongued beast that creeps on the dust ever find it’s way through the open gates of God’s kingdom.
Jesus Christ called it the gift of the Father because it is that which restores us to that glorious image of the Father, it brings back into understanding truths that we have long forgotten in our transgression in Adam. If any man does not align Himself to the spirit of God, His sin and trespass in Adam cannot be forgiven. One may ask, “What is the sin of Adam?” The sin of Adam is the conformation from the heavenly glory and image of the living God in which He was generated to that of a serpent of the dust below, meaning that He used the name of the Lord in vain since the name (nature) of the Lord was inscribed on Him. To reconvert back to that glorious spiritual and heavenly image which is the only image known and acceptable by the Father all men must receive the spirit and begin the regeneration process.
The regeneration process occurs in our mind when we begin to change our tongue (mind) and begin to align it with the mind of the Father so that we begin to perceive and understand things only after the way the Father perceives and sees things. In so doing, we are converted into the nature of the Father.
Every child of God has to exercise Himself continuously by speaking this new tongue after the mind of God, always viewing the things seen by the spiritual eye of the Father, as we do this we will discover that narrow path that leads to life and we will be maintained in this place life. For this reason Jesus says that everything that we have heard in the darkness of our human understanding should spoken in the light of the spirit of God, because there is nothing hidden from our understanding since our descent in Adam that will not be revealed by the spirit of God. In so doing we will be delivered from the powers of hell never to taste it again. [LUKE 12:1-8]
Jesus our elder brother in the faith spoke by this new tongue, which is why His belief contradicted the beliefs of the princes of this age. It was His mind after the spirit that caused Him to continuously speak in parables and to always equate the things seen in the creation to the things that pertain to God and the kingdom of His dear Son. He knew no man after the outer appearance but by the way, they are known of the Father. His idea of marriages, feats, sowing, trees, fruits, animals, houses and all that is seen was based on the way the Father perceives them from the beginning before this material world came into being. He never saw adulterers or sinners all He saw was the brethren and the seed of perfection of the Father on the inside of them, even when they persecuted Him. He was focused on the truth; this is the way we should stay focused on the things of the spirit if we are to see that land flowing with milk and honey.
THE DISSOLVING AND PURIFYING EFFECT OF THE FLAMING TONGUE
On the day of Pentecost, the holy Ghost descended in the form of tongues of fire and the disciples who had tarried in an upper room while waiting on the promise of the Lord were baptized in it and started speaking in audible tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. From that moment onwards, the disciples started operating with a level of faith and understanding that was never seen before.
Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
That outward manifestation which occurred on the day of Pentecost is something that we do not see any more; neither should we ever expect that visible flames of fire would descend on believers currently. God used that scene one the day of Pentecost to give us a view of what occurs in the spirit as He redeems us from this Dark Age. What happened on the day of Pentecost was a type of initiation into the Body of Christ or God’s kingdom; it is a union between those who are Christ’s upon the earth and those in the heavens. The new tongue they spoke is the new heavenly language of light that proceeds forth from the mind of Christ who incidentally is the spirit.
Those baptized into Christ by faith, receive of the spirit of the Father and use it to purify themselves of the beastly image they put on in Adam, without this purification, we cannot please God. Like the prophets says at His coming He will purify the sons of the kingdom by fire [Malachi 3:2-3], it is none other than the Holy Ghost fire. To overcome the old nature we must convert our spiritual tongues (mind) to speak only what the Holy Spirit speaks, no more speaking vanity from the old man of the flesh, this is the transformation of the mind Paul talks about in His letters. The fire of the Holy Ghost reveals the dissolving effect of God’s truth upon the double forked tongue in mortal man and upon its lies that have subtly built up a veil over the eyes of our understanding and generated the so-called mighty man of the flesh who is annihilated from the life of God.
That corrupt tree we mentioned earlier on, which brings forth bad fruits and speaks forth evil from the carnal man is to be uprooted and totally consumed by the fire that comes from the Holy Ghost until only the good tree who is the inner man of the spirit remains. John the Baptist confirmed this saying shortly before the arrival of the Christ on the scene. [Matthew 3:10-12]
In the creation account when God said, “let there be light”, it was His same flaming spirit injecting heavenly wisdom and understanding into a darkened mind that was in a hellish condition of unbelief. As that darkened mind received the light, the day appeared and God saw that it was good; that day is the perfect day of the Lord where every shadow of death disappears. That perfect day of the Lord is revealed in us as we yield to the flaming spirit of God and allow it to take control of our minds so that we speak as it gives us utterances. While speaking the new heavenly language as the spirit gives us utterance this present dark world of sorrow and anguish that we have formulated in our vain imagination dissolves so that the perfect day of the Lord appears. In other words, the perfect day of the Lord is revealed in every child of God as they occupy themselves in that new heavenly language of light.
Let us round up this article by peeing into a letter from Peter:
2Peter 3:10-14 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
We will treat this letter fully in a message titled THE END OF THE WORLD. I just wanted to point out that the perfect day of the Lord that we seek comes only as this present corrupt world or environment that we built for our individual selves dissolves and disintegrates. When this present system of unbelief and unrighteousness dissolves that true perfect and righteous world called, God’s kingdom appears so that men can once more enjoy the glory of God. This disintegration is accomplished only by the dissolving effect of God’s Holy Ghost fire. Individually and cooperatively, we can hasten the coming of that perfect day by yielding to the spirit and allowing it to take over every faculty of our mind by speaking always with the tongues of fire. Speaking and perceiving things as revealed by the spirit is holy conversation because the Holy Spirit sees and hears only the Father, this is the manner godliness we ought to practice.
Every false image other than the pure immaculate image of the Christ will be dissolved by the flaming tongue of truth, the earthly concepts of relationships that we have had, be it family, associations after the flesh and many other things highly regarded by men will be totally dissolved so that the true original pattern in God comes forth. Then we will rediscover the loving presence of the Father and begin to recognize the brethren of His one big family and walk in true love because the darkness passes away. No more will we recognize men after the flesh, but after the spirit the way they are know of the Father. Then will pride, discords, hate, intolerance and every evil we can imagine seize, because upon Zion, the location of God’s kingdom the Brethren live in the bond of unity of love, no murderer or lying tongue can ever find this place of God’s favor, only those who repent and change their tongue will find this place of eternal Joy.
Psalms 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Once again, we are admonished to occupy ourselves in God’s language of light, always perceiving things and speaking after the new man on the inside no more after the old corrupt man whose light is darkness and His end death. Those who will discover themselves on the peak of Zion, among the company of those redeemed and saved from this world must continuously learn and exercise themselves with the tongues of fire.
