THE CHERUBIM ON THE MERCY SEAT
God in His manifold wisdom uses the Seventh and last major object in
the Tabernacle called the Mercy Seat to show us the true glorified
state of His Sons who have persevered in the faith. Two Cherubims
or angels were molded and beaten out of pure gold in one piece with
the mercy seat. The mercy seat along with its attached cherubims was
placed on top of the ark of covenant. For those of us who do not
have an idea of what the tabernacle is, you may read the online book
titled
THE 3 PHASE EVOLUTION OF GOD'S TEMPLE.
Exodus 25:18 And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten
work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.
These cherubim reveal the state of those who are glorified in
Christ; they are the true and eternal faithful witnesses of God.
Being true and faithful witnesses’ means they live only unto God;
seeing them means seeing God. This furniture and the golden
lamp-stand where made with 100% pure gold unlike the other objects
in the tabernacle that were made of wood overlaid with gold.
The Mercy seat along with the Cherubims
attached to it were in reality the main attraction in the Tabernacle because
that was where God's presence dwelt. While the first Tabernacle was
still existing,
God normally met and spoke with The High Priest in the midst of a
glory cloud over the Mercy seat. This means that the clouds actually
encompassed the Cherubims over the mercy seat.
Exodus 30:6 And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark
of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony,
where I will meet with thee.
Leviticus 16:2 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy
brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within
the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die
not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.
Gold like we know is the most valuable of all metals, it is also
known for it's resistance to corrosion in atmospheric conditions
unlike other metals that rust and corrode with time. This
spiritually points to incorruptibility and divinity found within the
confines of God's kingdom. Heaven and earth will pass away but God's
kingdom and those who join themselves to Him to serve Him and live
unto Him by always doing His will abide forever unshakeable in
immortal light.
Another characteristic of gold in relation to God's kingdom which
many people overlook is its very malleable and ductile nature. Among
all metals, it is the most ductile and malleable, making it a
delight to craftsmen. Pure gold is rarely seen in public, the finished gold works that we see around are
actually alloyed with other metals to make the stronger and more
brittle. The definitions of
these two properties of gold are
A Malleable metal is capable of being extended, shaped, or
otherwise deformed without cracking. This property is important in
metalworking, as materials that crack or break under pressure cannot
be hammered or rolled. Malleable materials can be formed using
stamping or form pressing, whereas brittle metals and plastics must
be molded.
Ductility
is the mechanical property of being capable of sustaining large
plastic deformations due to tensile stress without fracture (in
metals, such as being drawn into a wire). It is characterized by the
material flowing under shear stress. It is contrasted with
brittleness.
We will see shortly how
these properties are reflected in the Cherubims molded with pure
gold.
The Cherubim molded out in Pure gold reveal a picture of the ones
who come to the place of glorification in God, there are beings who
come to the place of 100% divinity with no more limitations
whatsoever; they are spiritual light beings to the core with no
trace of carnality (Flesh and blood mentality). This is the
glorification that Jesus asked of the Father, because the Father has
the power to make His angels (His servants or Messengers) spirits
the same way that he is spirit. The glorification process actually
lifts men high above the problems that men have and causes God's
beloved to dwell in safety. These are events that occur inwardly not
in our flesh bodies, remember our flesh bodies are actually like
temporary houses that we use while on this earth. People should
understand that even unregenerate spirits can be classified as flesh
and blood, because they still put on the mind of the flesh. Our
flesh bodies can actually benefit from the divine health of God
radiating from the light of God's countenance and it is also quicken
as we are lifted up in the glorification process. It becomes so
energized that you begin to do things that ordinary men can not do.
Psalms 104:3-4 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters:
who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the
wind: 4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
The sense of poverty, lack, fear and limitability is wiped out
completely as we ascend into this realm in God. This means that the
emotional torments and every sin consciousness we have felt in our
humanity is no more in this place. All power in heaven and earth
rests with those who follow this ascension pattern because they are
completely one with the Lord in Love. As witnesses of the living
God, seeing these glorified creatures’ means beholding God. These
ones rule over the House of God and watch over it. Like the Cherubim
that were placed at the entrance of the way to the tree of life to
keep the way, these glorified ones in God being custodians of the
mystery of Christ lead men unto the tree of life. These are the
faithful servants that have kept themselves in the revelation
knowledge of God and have labored in the Lord with all patience so
that they are lifted above all, to rule with the Lord on His
Throne. Remember the parable of the faithful servant who was given
Lordship over His Master's goods [MATTHEW
24:45-51].
THE ASCENSION OF JESUS INTO
GLORY
Most Christians do not realize that Jesus had to equally transcend
His humanity to be in that company of two witnesses, what they do
not realize is that Jesus was no good in the flesh. His
acceptability before the Father was only as He was baptized into the
glory cloud which is Christ. It was when the glory ascended upon Him
that the Father thundered from Heaven saying this is son in whom I
am well pleased. We should understand before this moment He was not
known of the Father as son. There is no such thing as a good flesh
man in the sight of God; we are good only as we join ourselves to
Christ. Remember as our brother, he descended to share our lowly
flesh and blood nature and eventually overcame it as and example for
us to follow. Overcoming that life after flesh and blood is what he
came to demonstrate to us. If He was good and perfect in His
humanity of flesh and blood, then there would not have been need for
him to overcome it.
One might say "but He was born of a virgin", Yes he was born of a
virgin in what we call a parable-like story. God did this to
communicate to we who are spiritually minded that in likewise manner
we have to unite with the spirit to bring forth Christ. The
testimony of Jesus as a whole is a parable for those who have eyes
to see and ears to hear. His miracles were parables pointing to
things to come, yes he raised people from the dead, He opened the
eyes of the blind and He healed diseases, but in reality,
spiritually speaking those people was not raised from the dead,
neither were the blind truly cured in all those biblical accounts.
Those were shadows of those who will eventual enter into glory. At
that point in time none of those who were healed of Jesus actually
tasted of that true eternal healing of God. True liberation and
healing was available only after the glorification of Jesus.
So Jesus had to transcend His humanity of flesh and blood and its
limitedness. He had to overcome that earthly identity of a superior
sex called male, a superior tribe called the Hebrews etc to take up
His true glorified Cherubim state that we see over the ark in the
Holies of Holies. In fact when Mary Magdalene looked into His Tomb
after His crucifixion, those two angels she saw were those same two
Cherubim attached to the ends of the mercy seat over the Ark [John
20:11-12]. One of the angels was sitting by His feet and
the other by His Head. The picture God was trying to portray to us
was that the man Jesus whom all along was the ark of God or in other
words dwelt in the Ark of God Had transcended His Humanity into that
spiritual glorious State of the Cherubims. Those two Angels like I
earlier pointed out are the two Cherubim that were attached to the
mercy seat over the ark. They are a Shadow of the glorified image of
Christ or the two witnesses. In revealing the two angels, God was
revealing Jesus in His transcended state as those divine cherubim
creatures. All traces of humanity in Him had been completely wiped
out. The angels asked Mary "Woman why are you weeping", on turning
around spontaneously she saw Jesus who had by now converted Himself
into another form which was mistaken by Mary as a gardener. He asked
the same question again "Woman why do you weep". Finally he called
her by name so that she recognized Him.
John 20:11-17 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and
as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, 12 And
seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the
other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 And they say
unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they
have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. 14
And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus
standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith unto her,
Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be
the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence,
tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus
saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him,
Rabboni; which is to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me
not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren,
and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to
my God, and your God.
The principle of ductability and malleability in the newly glorified
body was at play when Jesus appeared to Mary. He could transform
Himself into different forms, pass through walls and manifest
Himself into whatever form He choose to manifest Himself, because He
was wearing a glorified spiritual body which has no limitations. All
these things are mysterious occurrences that God deliberately
slotted into the bible for our edification, so that we can clearly
see the end of our faith in Christ. They are all prophetic for our
growth in God, and they can profit us only if we are spiritually
minded.
God also revealed the glorification process when Jesus was taken up
in a cloud at the end of His ministry [ACT
1:9-11]. Two Angels appeared as the disciples continued
on looking towards the sky; these angels are actually the Lord in
His glorified state. Jesus had transcended the outer court (The
Flesh) and Holy Place (The soul) into the Holies of Holies (spirit
realm). He transcended the realm of death and limitation into that
glorious cloud of the Father which is the place of the Cherubims
above the mercy seat. [Leviticus
16:2]. Now we understand What He meant when he said "I
go to the Father" or "Glorify me with the glory I had with
you before the world was”.
Many are still looking up to the sky today asking and begging to see
Jesus after the flesh, some ask, where is Jesus today? The answer is
simple He is no more, He never was, He only descended in the flesh
and blood form and put on the name Jesus for a season to demonstrate
the mystery of godliness so that men might believe and be saved. He
is transcended back into the clouds which is His true spiritual
image (CHRIST). Christ is that one who was before any thing made
both visible and invisible, he is one with the Father and is God. If
we knew Jesus after the flesh we know Him no more after this manner,
we now know Him after spirit. Instead of looking up into the
sky for a Flesh Jesus to appear, what we should be doing is
preparing ourselves to ascend into that Glory Cloud to be with Him.
2Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the
flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now
henceforth know we him no more.
THE
TABERNACLE IS ACTUALLY IN THE CLOUDS
We will see that the Tabernacle is actual the cloud of God's Glory
which is Christ. Even though it is one spiritual body, it has an
innumerable company of Angels or saints who are in alignment with
the mind of God. This concept is seen in the physical bodies of men
which are actually a complex structure of innumerable organs and
cell that all work independently of each other in alignment to make
the body function. No man, even with all the technology can ever say
He knows the number of cells and organs that make up a man even
though we know they are there. In likewise manner no man can
comprehend the multitudes that make that invisible body of the
Christ click. What happens to we who are of the faith is that we are
baptized into that Body by faith; we then enter into a type of
fellowship in the midst of these clouds. As long as we remain in the
cloud (The Tabernacle) and allow the Lord to work His transformation
in us we too are also perfected to be like the clouds.
Looking with spiritual binoculars we discern that the Tabernacle
which had dense layers of skin that covered it is a place where
hidden mysterious activities take place so that no one on the
outside can know what is going on within it except it is given from
above. Unless the Father gives His X-Ray glasses, no man can
perceive the activities in this place talk less of entering this
place except it is given from above. That which goes on underneath
those thick dull coverings is a hidden mysterious fellowship that
connects with the living God. It is this fellowship that Christ
reveals to humanity for their healing. Without this fellowship no
man can be saved, for this reason He says blessed is He who eats
bread in the kingdom of God [LUKE
14:15].
Ephesians 3:8-10 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints,
is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the
unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all men see what is the
fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world
hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To
the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly
places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
We can perceive and view that which is beyond the veil only by
revelation from above. The carnally minded man who is still waiting
for some form of physical manifestation will go on waiting till he
comes to His senses. As the eyes are opened spiritually a new world
hidden from the sight of men immerges our of the spirit realm.

As our eyes of understanding
pierces through those thick coverings by faith we behold a
brilliant glowing structure covered with linen with images of cherubims (angels) weaved on it. The linen is being transparent
glows with light from the inside. The Curtain that give entrance
into the first compartment of the tabernacle called the Holy place
had these cherubims woven on them, in likewise manner a veil with
these same cherubims were woven on it separated the Holy place from
the second compartment called the Holies of Holies. The same pattern
is seen in the temple of Solomon. Solomon's temple, being a more
solid and permanent structure had the same concept embedded in its
design, and we all know that the architect is God. Solomon's Temple
had Cherubim carved out on the inner walls and on the door leading
to the Holy Place. It also had the same linen veil with Cherubim
weaved on it separating the Holies of Holies from the Holy place.
When God projected His eternal Temple in the Heavens unto Moses and
King David in material form, He was actually giving us a picture of
the true heavenly temple. Neither Moses nor David could have
understood these mysteries at that time.
God was trying to show us that as we enter into the Tabernacle, by
faith we are actually being baptized into His Glory cloud which is
full of these angelic witnesses (Cherubim). To enter into this place
means that we are completely surrounded by these heavenly host in
Christ. A fellowship is sparked off in this place; this fellowship
brings about our perfection and glorification in the faith. Indeed
we come to mount Zion and the glorification process starts, it is
the process that will perfect every Son and bring them to the
pinnacle of Zion, so that they become conformed to that same image
of the glory cloud. The glorification process actually causes us to
be conformed into that heavenly image of those Cherubim (angels).
While fellowshipping and beholding the glory of God in this place we
are transformed into that same glory, this is the wish of God.
2Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass
the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to
glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Paul referred to this gathering and glorification process, when He
wrote in a Letter to the Thessalonians that we will all be caught up
to meet the Lord in the cloud and there we will be forever [1
THESSALONIANS 4:16-18]. This is what religion has
mistaken for the rapture, what they do not know is that the trumpet
is blowing and peoples are entering into that glory cloud this very
moment. In another letter to the Ephesians, He says that the eternal
purpose of God is to gather all nations and tongues in Christ [EPHESIANS
1:9-10]. All we have to do is obediently enter into this
cloud by faith and receive instruction unto Glory. The Time has come
to leave aside the vanities on the outside world of appearances and
press on into the invisible glory cloud of God.
In the glory cloud a Table is set, where all the sons come together
in fellowshipping with the Father. Jesus gave reference to this
several Parables; in one of them, He says that many will be gathered
from the east and west to seat at that heavenly table with Abraham.
[Matthew 8:11]. As we move
higher we even begin to sense the presence of saints that have long
departed this earth, our eyes are opened to behold unspeakable
things, things that mere men in there ignorance can never
understand. You will be amazed at the foolishness of man as you
behold creation from this place. As we continue on in this
fellowship on the heavenly table by feeding on angel’s bread, we
abide in the Vine which is the golden lamp-stand (God's Spirit).
Gradually our souls loses it's flesh and blood identity acquired in
this age and begins to fuse back to the head (Christ), the soul
finds itself in Christ, in the ark of God and is gradually lifted up
into the glorified state of Cherubim. The glorification process
completely purges us of every trace of a flesh and blood mentality
so that we become complete spirit beings like the clouds of Heaven.
Like the Cherubim of pure gold we become new creatures after the
original heavenly pattern.
This is the place we come to where offences of this present age no longer
get to us; it is a place where torment completely seizes. The
struggles and battles we have had in this age when we tried to love
with no success seizes, because we become an expression of the love
of the living God. Man who is bound in the lower realms of
limitability can not give out love because of his sense of spiritual
poverty. All this changes in our transcended state, when the Lord
transports us into a realm of abundance. Love is giving, it is
innocent, it is patient, and it is enduring and believes all things
are possible; this is the glorious cherubim state in Christ.
DIAGRAM SHOWING THE
GLORIFICATION WORK FLOW IN THE TABERNACLE.
Israel's journey into promise land was another pointer to the
glorification process of the saints. The Promised Land represents
the place of glorification, the eternal spirit realm of unlimited
resources in God. It is the place of every spiritual blessing in
God, a place where flesh and blood is not aware of talk less of
entering. The Hebrews had lived a life of bondage and toil in Egypt
for so long and their cries got up to God. Egypt in this context
represents the lower realms of existence where carnality reigns. It
is the realm of appearances where men live a life in relation to
this material world; it is a realm where the arm of flesh rules. The
Bondage of the Israelites in the land of Egypt was simply a shadow
of the bondage and hard servitude men living in this present age
find themselves in. It is a realm of unbelief, where man knows no
rest and prosperity. God intention was to get His people out of that
impoverished state into the glorious liberty of His Kingdom; He
wanted to exalt them from the place of poverty into a place of
unlimited resources and blessings, a land flowing with milk
and honey where there is no more sense of lack or fatigue.
The Israelites had received the blood of the lamb on their doors and
were baptized in the Rea Sea into the cloud, these points to the
Bronze altar and the Bronze laver which were outside the Tabernacle.
God is demonstration to us that that we all enter into this new
realm of fellowship by faith in the blood of Jesus. To get into the
Promised Land, they however had to go through forty years in the
wilderness as we all know. Those 40 years in the wilderness was
simply a refining process whereby the unbelieving Egyptian mentality
in the Israelites had to be completely purged. None of those above
20 Years who more or less could not be reformed entered into the
Promised Land.
After the forty years in the wilderness, God actually brought forth
a new creation who had known only angels bread and provision from
above. All traces of the Egyptian bread they had known on the other
side of the river had to be totally purged from their system. This
generation of Israelites was a generation that was baptized into the
cloud. They lived in the cloud and were sustained by that cloud
throughout their wandering in the wilderness. Paul had a revelation
of this [1 CORINTHIANS 10:1-13].
With spiritual goggles you will note that the Israelites were
actually living in a type of tabernacle. They were surrounded by
that glory cloud which we established is the company of heavenly
hosts or angels in Christ. They had their daily bread from the
clouds and moved wherever the clouds moved. None of the nations
around them ever saw or tasted of that bread which the bible
describes as angels bread, in fact their sustenance was a mystery.
God was teaching them a new way of life, a life of faith unto Him.
As long as they were patient and obeyed the Lord by not murmuring
and tempting Him, they were assured of their goal. The whole idea of
that wilderness trip was to perform a transformation work on the
Israelites into vessels that could stand worthily in God's glory.
When they eventually entered the promise land, the clouds stopped
appearing over them. One may be tempted to ask, "why did they stop appearing?" They stopped
appearing because spiritually speaking the Israelites had been
conformed into that image of cloud (Christ) so that they became one
with that glory, no longer needing ministration. Entering the
promise land was like ascension into the glory cloud of God in the
heavens. God was trying to demonstrate that in the final place of
rest we become exactly like His glory cloud; isn’t this wonderful.
THE CIRCLE OF GODLINESS SEEN IN
THE CHERUBIM
One may ask what then happens after the regeneration work and
ascension from the carnal human state into God's Cherubims in His
glory cloud. The answer is simple the ones glorified in Christ
simply remain in the cloud fellowshipping and guiding others into
glory. God calls his sons out of the darkness of this world into a
fellowship with these perfected cherubs in the cloud of His glory.
These called out ones are then transformed and glorified into that
perfect spiritual image of Christ seen in the Cherubims. These newly
perfected creatures now join that glory cloud to administer that
same work of salvation to others in darkness. This is the principle
of God's ever expanding kingdom.
Jesus is in that cloud today administering salvation to lost souls,
Paul is in that cloud today, John is in that cloud today. I know of
Brethren in this world today who are in that cloud ministering life
and salvation to others, I might not mention names but I recognize
them by the spirit. I have received some few strange messages from
people I have never met; I can discern some of them were not just
ordinary men. We should learn to discern these things at times, like
Paul says some have entertained angels unknowingly. People do not
realize that Paul was a Cherubim Himself, but you need the spirit to
discern this thing.
What should I say then, Let us enter into this fellowship by faith
and trust the Lord to bring us to an expected end of glory and
peace. Trust is the key; He will never leave us or forsake us in our
quest to His glory. Has he not said that it is the Father's pleasure
to give us the kingdom? Never bother yourselves with the mishaps and
ravaging destruction going on in the world. Just come into this
realm of fellowship so that He can transform us into His state of
purity and innocence. The all power and all faith to move the
mountains are achieved through perfect love working hand in hand
with our faith. It is only as we unite in Christ that we can now
appear as saviors of this world.
Amen
